Role Overview

The Program Supervisor supports the Program Director by assisting in the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the center. This role involves direct supervision of staff, programming support, family communication, and administrative responsibilities. The Program Supervisor also acts as the Program Director during periods of absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the Program Director in all areas as determined by the Director.
  • Act as the Program Director during their absence.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the program, assisting staff in programming with designated time set aside.
  • Communicate daily with parents and regularly with stakeholders.
  • Train and orient new staff.
  • Ensure a safe and friendly environment in the Centre.
  • Supervise staff within the area of care (Daycare or OSC).
  • Handle administrative tasks at the Child Care Center.
  • Address parental concerns and staffing issues, providing feedback to the Program Director.
  • Maintain snack supply inventory and ensure toy supplies are in good condition, removing and replacing broken toys.
  • Assist with covering staff breaks and meeting staff/child ratios when needed.
  • Support hiring and conduct staff evaluations.
